The Wood shop is the largest department at Rocket, employing five experienced full-time carpenters supported by a team of talented freelancers. In addition to traditional wooden mortice and tenon constructed scenery, the Wood shop team is also expert at vac-form work, laminating, fibre glassing and the application of printed images to scenery.
Rocket also now owns and operates a brand new Homag CNC router on site, which enables us to cut complex individual or multiple components for scenery in sheet materials up to 8`x4` size. We specialise in making bespoke modular show floors using this machine, often with tiled, planked, stone or parquet engraving effects that designers often demand.
